Our friends at Civics Unplugged are currently hiring a full-time Summer Program Associate for CU Commons in Upstate New York, with a special focus on the Mohawk Valley region.

CU Commons is a new initiative designed to create spaces for social connection and intergenerational learning, with programming aiming to empower civic innovators–someone who sees any problem affecting their community as a civic issue and uses new tools and approaches to break out of old patterns to build a better future. 

The Summer Program Associate will play a key role in developing and facilitating community events, building local partnerships, and supporting outreach efforts across the region. This position is ideal for a college student, recent graduate, or early-career professional who is passionate about strengthening communities, enjoys collaborative work, and is interested in gaining experience in event planning, youth engagement, and nonprofit programming.

The role runs from June through August 2026, with a strong possibility of extension, and offers compensation of $3,000 per month. Applicants should be based in or connected to the Mohawk Valley.
